Wisconsin's 24th Assembly District
The 24th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the district comprises parts of southern Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, Ozaukee County, southeast Washington County, Wisconsin, Washington County, and northeast Waukesha County, Wisconsin, Waukesha County. It includes the villages of Germantown, Wisconsin, Germantown and Grafton, Wisconsin, Grafton, as well as a significant portion of the villages of Mequon, Wisconsin, Mequon and Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Menomonee Falls. The district is represented by Republican Party (United States), Republican Paul Melotik, since August 2023. Wisconsin Senate, District 8
Wisconsin's 8th State Senate district is one of 33 districts of the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district comprises northeastern Milwaukee County, southern Ozaukee County, southern Washington County, and northeastern Waukesha County. Current elected officials Alberta Darling was the most recent senator representing the 8th district. She was first elected in the 1992 general election and resigned in December 2022. A special election will be held in this district concurrent with the 2023 Spring election. Each Wisconsin State Senate district is composed of three State Assembly districts. Grafton (town), Wisconsin
The Town of Grafton is a town located in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States, and is in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The town was created in 1846 and at the time of the 2020 Census had a population of 4,157. Grafton is located on the western shore of Lake Michigan. German and Irish immigrants first settled in Grafton in the 1840s. Their centers of settlement became the unincorporated communities of Lakefield and Ulao, as well as the Village of Grafton, which is partially located in the town. History The first Europeans to visit the area were the Jesuit missionaries Claude-Jean Allouez and Claude Bablon, who visited a Native American village on the Milwaukee River near the future site of Grafton around the year 1670. Dan Knodl
Dan Knodl (December 14, 1958) is an American politician, currently serving as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Early life and education Born in Milwaukee, Knodl was raised in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and graduated from Menomonee Falls East High School in 1977. He briefly attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Career Knodl was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2008. He previously served on the Washington County Board of Supervisors. On January 5, 2021, Knodl and 14 other Wisconsin lawmakers signed a letter to then-Vice President Mike Pence asking him to delay certification of the 2020 United States presidential election. Suzanne Jeskewitz
Suzanne Jeskewitz (born February 21, 1942) is a former Wisconsin legislator and politician. Born in Galesville, Wisconsin, Jeskewitz graduated from Gale-Ettrick High School and then received her bachelor's degree from University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. She was in public relations, teaching, and a real estate broker. Jeskewitz served on the Waukesha County, Wisconsin Board of Supervisors from 1992 to 1996. Lolita Schneiders
Lolita Schneiders (March 3, 1931 – November 12, 2022) was an American politician, teacher, and businesswoman who served as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Early life and education Born in Chicago, Illinois, Schneiders went to Lourdes High School and Mundelein College in Chicago. She then received her bachelor's degree in education from University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. Career Schneiders worked as a saleswomen, teacher, and insurance agent in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. She served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1981 until 1997 as a Republican. After leaving the Assembly, Schneiders served on the University of Wisconsin–Madison Board of Regents. Margaret Ann "Peggy" Krusick (born October 26, 1956) is a retired American Democratic politician. She was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly for nearly thirty years (1983–2013), representing central Milwaukee County. She was defeated in a primary challenge after redistricting, and lost a subsequent write-in campaign. Background Peggy Krusick is a graduate of Saint Gregory the Great Parish School and Hamilton High School, both in Milwaukee. She received her B.A. in Political Science, with honors, from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. She and her husband have two children.
