''Christiane F.'' (german: Christiane F. – Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo, italic=yes, ) is a 1981 German Biographical film, biographical Drama (film and television), drama film directed by Uli Edel that portrays the descent of Christiane F., Christiane Felscherinow, a bored 13-year-old growing up in mid-1970s West Berlin, to a 14-year-old heroin addict. Based on the 1978 Nonfiction, non-fiction book ''Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo'' (''We Children from Berlin Zoologischer Garten railway station, Zoo Station''), transcribed and edited from tape recordings by Kai Hermann and Horst Rieck, the film immediately acquired Cult film, cult status and features David Bowie as both composer and as himself. Uli Edel
Ulrich "Uli" Edel (; born 11 April 1947) is a German film and television director, best known for his work on films such as Last Exit to Brooklyn (film), ''Last Exit to Brooklyn'' and ''Body of Evidence (1993 film), Body of Evidence.'' His ''Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny'' won a Golden Globe for Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture made for TV. Alan Rickman in the titular role won an Primetime Emmy Award, Emmy and a Golden Globe Awards, Golden Globe for Best Actor. Ian McKellen, playing Tsar Nicholas II, won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor. Life and career Edel was born in Neuenburg am Rhein, South Baden.
