Wintour's Leap
Wintour's Leap is a noted rock climbing location and viewpoint. It is located near the village of Woodcroft, Gloucestershire, Woodcroft in Gloucestershire, on the England, English side of the River Wye, Wye Valley, north of Chepstow. History Wintour's Leap is named after Cavalier, Royalist John Winter (Royalist), Sir John Wintour who, hotly pursued on his horse by Roundhead, Parliamentary forces, according to local myth survived a leap off the cliff and, landing safely in the Wye below, swam to safety in the nearby Chepstow Castle. Mount Wintour
Mount Wintour is a ridge-like mountain summit located in the Opal Range of the Canadian Rockies of Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Kananaskis River Valley east of Lower Kananaskis Lake and Highway 40 in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. The nearest higher neighbor is Mount Jerram, to the east. The northern end of Mount Wintour forms the south canyon wall of King Creek which is a popular ice climbing destination. There are two climbing routes to the summit, the North Ridge and the South Ridge, both rated class 5.4. History The mountain was named in honor of Captain Charles John Wintour (1871–1916), Royal Navy commander of the 4th Destroyer Flotilla. He was killed when his flagship, the destroyer was sunk by the German battleship during the Battle of Jutland in World War I.

The Anna Wintour Costume Center is a wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's main building in Manhattan that houses the collection of the Costume Institute. Major-General Fitzgerald Wintour (1860—1949) was a British military officer who served in the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment and the Royal Norfolk Regiment. Elvie Marelyn Wintour-Coghlan is an Australian physiologist who has focused her career on the endocrinology of the pregnant mother and foetus. She has developed techniques enabling her to follow development of foetal organs, showing that concentration of foetal urine can be used as an indicator of stress in the foetus.
