Winter X Games
Winter is the coldest season of the year in polar and temperate climates. It occurs after autumn and before spring. The tilt of Earth's axis causes seasons; winter occurs when a hemisphere is oriented away from the Sun. Different cultures define different dates as the start of winter, and some use a definition based on weather. When it is winter in the Northern Hemisphere, it is summer in the Southern Hemisphere, and vice versa. In many regions, winter brings snow and freezing temperatures. Kaitlyn Farrington
Kaitlyn Brooke Farrington (born December 18, 1989) is an American former professional snowboarder who grew up on a cattle ranch near Bellevue, Idaho, and now lives in Whitefish, Montana. She won the gold medal in the women's half-pipe competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Prior to her Olympic debut, she competed in the 2010 European Winter X Games and won the gold medal. Henrik Harlaut (born 14 August 1991) is a Swedish freestyle skier. He was born in Stockholm and moved with his family to Åre at the age of nine. At the Winter X Games XVII in Aspen, Colorado, Harlaut won the gold medal in Big Air and the silver medal in slopestyle. In the Big Air final he landed the first-ever "nose butter triple cork 1620" (a series of choreographed flips and spins he had not even tried himself before) and scored a perfect 50 points. Thomas James "TJ" Schiller (born October 17, 1986) is a Canadian freestyle skier. Schiller combines amplitude with style and is best known for his signature switch 1080 mute grab. Bobby Brown (born June 5, 1991) is an American freeskier specializing in slopestyle and big air competitions. Brown was the first to execute multiple variations of a triple flip or triple cork at a training session in Squaw Valley, California.
