Winter Park Historical Museum
Winter Park History Museum, also known as the Winter Park Historical Museum, is a local history museum in Winter Park, Orange County, Florida. It is operated by the Winter Park Historical Association and located in a former railroad freight depot. The museum's collections of historic artifacts include area schools, medical and military items, vintage postcards and photographs, Boy Scout items, and items of local businesses and industries. Exhibitions have included local area history subjects such as area railroads, the history and culture of the turpentine industry, Winter Park High School history, and the city's Colony Theatre (Winter Park, Florida). Winter Park is a city in Orange County, Florida, United States. The population was 30,183 according to the 2022 census population estimate. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. Winter Park was founded as a resort community by northern business magnates in the late 19th and early 20th centuries (Founded on July 4, 1881 – Tales of Winter Park). Its main street, called Park Avenue, is located in the middle of town. Winter Park High School (often simply abbreviated as WPHS) located in Winter Park, Florida, United States is one of nineteen public high schools in Orange County. Winter Park High School is a International Baccalaureate school and delivers Advanced Placement courses. History Winter Park High School was constructed at 528 Huntington Avenue in 1923 and was one of the first high schools in Orange County. Colony Theatre (Winter Park, Florida)
The Colony Theatre is a performing arts venue located on Lincoln Road in Miami, Florida. The theatre first opened as a Paramount Pictures movie house in 1935 with a capacity to sit 1,200 people. From the 1950s - 1990s, it functioned back and forth as a movie house and a live performance space. As of 2020, the Colony Theatre is a 417-seat performance venue managed by South Florida theater company, Miami New Drama.
