Winsome Andante
Winsome Andante (April 6, 1993 - September 25, 2019) was an English imported crossbred eventer (84.5% Thoroughbred, 9.5% Arabian (horse), Arabian, and 6% Irish) who competed successfully to the highest levels of the sport of eventing. His rider, Kimberly Severson, rode him in many well-known events, and he won the Rolex Concours Complet International, CCI**** a record three times. He also competed at the Burghley Horse Trials, as well as in the Olympic Games, Olympics and the World Equestrian Games. "Dan" was strong in all three phases. He usually won or placed among the top horses in the dressage, followed by a fast, clean cross-country run and a good show jumping round. He stood {{hands, 16.1. In November 2006, Dan rose to the top of the United States Eventing Association, USEA Leader Board, ahead of retired Giltedge, with a total of 1,184 career points. Winsome Joan Evans OAM BEM (born 26 October 1941), is one of Australia's premier early music specialists. Biography She received a Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree in composition from the University of Sydney, where her lecturers included Peter Sculthorpe. In addition to her activities as a professional harpsichordist, composer, and arranger, she is perhaps best known for her role as director of the Renaissance Players, one of Australia's best known early music ensembles. She was until recently an Associate Professor of music at the University of Sydney. Evans has "re-composed" all of Johann Sebastian Bach's works for solo violin as works for clavicembalo, adding accompaniments as she believes Bach must have had in mind. Her recording of her recomposition of the 6 Sonatas and Partitas, BWV 1001–1006, was released in 2009. Winsome McCaughey
Winsome McPherson McCaughey (; born 23 October 1943), was Lord Mayor of Melbourne from 1988 to 1989. She was the second woman to hold that position after succeeding Alexis Ord. Early life Winsome Howell was born and raised on a property at Baddaginnie, in north-east Victoria, where her great-grandparents had settled in 1870. After primary school she was sent to board at Morongo Girls' College in Geelong. She was married to Patrick McCaughey. She studied philosophy during her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, and resided at University College from 1962 to 1964. Career Alongside Ruth Crow, McCaughey helped found the community-based childcare movement and was founder and Director of the Community Child Care Association from 1972 to 1979. Winsome Pinnock FRSL (born 1961) is a British playwright of Jamaican heritage, who is "probably Britain's most well known black female playwright". She was described in ''The Guardian'' as "the godmother of black British playwrights". Life Winsome Pinnock was born in Islington, North London, to parents who were both migrants from Smithville, Jamaica. Her mother was a cleaner, and her father a checker at Smithfield Meat Market. Winsome Sears (née Earle; born March 11, 1964) is a Jamaican-born American politician serving as the 42nd lieutenant governor of Virginia. A member of the Republican Party, Sears served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2004. She also served on the Virginia Board of Education, and she ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. House of Representatives in Virginia's 3rd congressional district in 2004 and for U.S. Senate in 2018. In 2021, Sears was elected lieutenant governor of Virginia. Sears is the first woman to serve as lieutenant governor of Virginia, and is the first woman of color and first Jamaican-born American citizen elected to statewide office in Virginia.
