Debate Team is an American power pop band from Los Angeles, California, consisting of vocalist Ryan McNeill, drummer Dan Konopka of OK Go, guitarist Drew Brown (OneRepublic), Drew Brown of OneRepublic, bassist Robert (Bob) Morris, Bob Morris of The Hush Sound and keyboardist Adam James. Debate Team (via Facebook). Their debut extended play, ''Wins Again'', was released independently on January 24, 2011. Origin The band started out as a recording project by flatmates Brown and McNeill. Both had an interest in artists such as Elvis Costello and Queen (band), Queen. Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals) and Roger Taylor (Queen drummer), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), later joined by John Deacon (bass). Their earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and Heavy metal music, heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock. Before forming Queen, May and Taylor had played together in the band Smile (band), Smile.
