Winnipeg Route 95
Route 95 is a city route located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It runs in the southwest part of the city from Route 105 east to Route 42, near the Confusion Corner intersection. It is named Roblin Boulevard west of Assiniboine Park, where it then becomes Corydon Avenue for the remainder of its route. Corydon and Roblin The Corydon Avenue segment of the route is home to Winnipeg's Little Italy District, and is currently served by the 18 North Main-Corydon Winnipeg Transit bus route. The avenue was named after Corydon Partlow Brown, a member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1878 to 1888. The more westerly Roblin Boulevard segment serves as the main street for the area of Charleswood. It was named for former Manitoba premier Rodmond Roblin, grandfather of Duff Roblin. Dufferin Roblin
Dufferin "Duff" Roblin, (June 17, 1917 – May 30, 2010) was a Canadian businessman and politician. He served as the 14th premier of Manitoba from 1958 to 1967. Roblin was appointed to the Senate of Canada on the advice of Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. In the government of Brian Mulroney, he served as government leader in the Senate. He was the grandson of Sir Rodmond Roblin, who also served as Manitoba Premier. His ancestor John Roblin served in the Upper Canada assembly. Route 80, locally known as Waverley Street, is a major arterial road in the southwest portion of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It runs from Kenaston Boulevard (Route 90) to Grant Avenue (Route 105). Waverley Street serves as a major route to get to and from the industrial and commercial areas between McGillivray and Bishop Grandin Boulevards. The speed limit along the route south of Wilkes Avenue is 80 km/h (50 mph). Near Taylor Avenue, Waverley previously crossed the city's Canadian National Railway main line, where passing trains frequently caused major traffic delays. Sir Rodmond Palen Roblin (February 15, 1853 – February 16, 1937) was a businessman and politician in Manitoba, Canada. Early life and career Roblin was born in Sophiasburgh Township, Ontario, Sophiasburgh, in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Prince Edward County, Canada West (later Ontario). Confusion Corner
Osborne Junction, more commonly known as Confusion Corner, is a street intersection in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Located at the junction of City Route 62 and City Route 42 in the city's Fort Rouge neighbourhood, the intersection is a major traffic hub through which most traffic between downtown and the southwest quadrant of the city must pass, but is infamous for being complex and difficult for unfamiliar or distracted drivers to navigate correctly. The intersection is defined by two one-way segments of Route 42, which has the street names Pembina Highway west of the intersection, and Donald Street and McMillan Avenue east of the intersection, intersecting Route 62 (Osborne Street) in a rhomboid shape.
