Winick, Judd
Judd Winick (born February 12, 1970) is an American cartoonist, comic book writer and screenwriter, as well as a former reality television personality. He first gained fame for his stint on MTV's '' The Real World: San Francisco'' in 1994, before finding success as a comic book creator with ''Pedro and Me'', an autobiographical graphic novel about his friendship with ''The Real World'' castmate and AIDS educator Pedro Zamora. Winick wrote lengthy runs on DC Comics' ''Green Lantern'' and ''Green Arrow'' series and created ''The Life and Times of Juniper Lee'' animated TV series for Cartoon Network, which ran for three seasons. As part of his run on ''Batman'', Winick wrote the 2005 storyline "Under the Hood", which featured the return of Jason Todd, the second Robin (who was murdered by the Joker in the 1988 storyline "A Death in the Family"), now operating as the anti-hero Red Hood. ''The Life and Times of Juniper Lee'' (also known simply as ''Juniper Lee'' or ''Witch Girl Juniper Lee'') is an American animated television series created by former MTV reality star Judd Winick for Cartoon Network and produced by Cartoon Network Studios. It premiered on May 30, 2005 on Cartoon Network and was discontinued on April 9, 2007. The show currently reruns on Pogo in India, Boing in Nigeria, South Africa and France, Boomerang in Thailand and Tooncast in Latin America. Dix Hills, New York
Dix Hills is an affluent hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) on Long Island in the town of Huntington in Suffolk County, New York. The population was 26,892 at the 2010 census. In the past, Dix Hills and some of its neighbors have proposed incorporating as the Incorporated Village of Half Hollow Hills. These proposals were all mothballed. History Settlers traded goods with the Indigenous Secatogue tribe for the land that became Dix Hills in 1699. The Secatogues lived in the northern portion of the region during the later half of that century. The land was known as Dick's Hills. By lore, the name traces to a local native named Dick Pechegan, likely of the Secatogues. Scholar William Wallace Tooker wrote that the addition of the English name "Dick" to the indigenous name "Pechegan" was a common practice. The Red Hood is an alias used by multiple characters appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The identity was first used in the 1951 storyline "The Man Behind the Red Hood!", which provides the earliest origin story for the Joker. The storyline depicts an unnamed criminal wearing a red dome-shaped hood who, after a chance encounter with Batman, is disfigured by chemicals and becomes insane, giving birth to his future Joker persona.
