Wingham is a village and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the Dover District of Kent, England. The village lies along the ancient coastal road, now the A257, from Richborough to London, and is close to Canterbury. Wingham, New South Wales
Wingham is a town in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia in the Mid-Coast Council area north of Sydney. According to the , Wingham had a population of 5,313. History The first land grant in the area was made at The Bight to George Rowley in 1841. Wingham was chosen as a location for a government settlement because supply boats could not proceed any further up the Manning River and was also located on the road from Raymond Terrace to Port Macquarie. Named after Wingham in Kent, England, Wingham was proclaimed a village in 1844 but allotments were not made until 1854, the same year that Henry Flett laid out Taree as a private settlement. In the meantime, Tinonee had also been established as a government settlement and in 1866 had a population of 100, compared to 90 at Wingham and 150 at Taree. St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Wingham
St Andrew's Presbyterian Church is a Presbyterian church at 32 Moon Street, Wingham, New South Wales, Australia. Together with St Thomas' Presbyterian Church, Krambach, the St Andrew's congregation forms part of the Wingham and Upper Manning Parish. St Andrew's is located on a triangular block formed by Moon Street, Gloucester Road, and Fotheringham Street in Wingham. St. Andrew's is towards the apex at the corner of Moon Street and Gloucester Road. The manse is located at the Fotheringham Street end of the block, however the manse is not the home of the current minister. Church building The church building is a yellow brick building from the 1970s and replaced the original wooden church built in 1856 in Canget Street, one block east of the Wingham Memorial Hall. Wingham (2016 census population 2,934) is a community located in the municipality of North Huron, Ontario, Canada, which is located in Huron County. Wingham became part of North Huron in 2001 when the Ontario government imposed amalgamation on the former township of East Wawanosh, the village of Blyth, and the town of Wingham. Wingham is located at the intersection of County Roads 4 and 86. Most of Wingham is located between County Road 86 to the south and the Maitland River to the north. History The original survey for Wingham was conducted in 1854, with 1,000 acres dedicated to the community north of what is now Highway 86 and Highway 4. Wingham Bulls
The Wingham Bulls were a senior hockey team based out of Wingham, Ontario, Canada. They played in the Western Ontario Athletic Association Senior Hockey League. Championships The Wingham Spitfires won the WOAA Sr. "A" title three years in a row, from 2001-2003. A previous Wingham team with the same nickname won the 1951 WOAA Grand Championship, while in 1984, the Wingham Royals were crowned the Intermediate "A" title. 2006-07 Bulls Season The Bulls improved greatly from their 2005-06 season, and finished the year with a 12-12-0 record, which placed them 6th in the WOAA South Division. In the opening round of the "A" playoffs, the Bulls swept the Mildmay Monarchs in 4 games. The Bulls would face the Durham Thundercats in the "A" semi-finals, and would quickly find themselves down 2-0 in the series, being outscored 10-1 in the process. Wingham Ironmen
The Wingham Ironmen are a Junior ice hockey team based in Wingham, Ontario, Canada. They began play in the Northern Junior D Hockey League and eventually moved up to the Western Junior C Hockey League where they played until the 2016-17 season when the league became part of the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) as the Pollock Division. History Founded in 1973, the Ironmen started out in Northern Junior D Hockey League where they played for six seasons. After some success at the Junior D level, the Ironmen joined the Central Junior C Hockey League in 1979. In 1980, the league changed its name to the Grey-Bruce Junior C Hockey League to reflect the centralization of the league in Grey-Bruce counties region. Sir Duncan John Wingham (born 12 October 1957) is a British physicist who is Professor of Climate Physics at University College London, and was the first Director of the Centre for Polar Observation & Modelling. He is chief executive of the Natural Environment Research Council and Principal Scientist for the CryoSat Satellite Mission. In the 1990s, Wingham was involved in a four-year satellite study of the Antarctic ice sheet. His conclusion then, and from later research, is that the Antarctic has contributed little to observed rising sea levels in the 20th century.
