Windsor Home Park F.C.
Windsor Home Park F.C. were an amateur football club who featured in the early years of the FA Cup. History A cricket ground opened in Windsor Home Park in the summer of 1850, and Windsor Home Park Cricket Club started playing matches in that year. While there is some evidence of a "Home Park Football Club" existing in Windsor as early as 1854, a later newspaper article definitively states that "The Windsor Home Park Football Club played their first match" in December 1870. The club played regularly against local rivals such as Maidenhead F.C. and Great Marlow F.C. In 1872–73 the club entered the FA Cup for the first time. It beat Reigate Priory in the first round, at the Kennington Oval with the score given as 3 goals, plus one "in abeyance", to two. There was no referee for the match, so, after a Home Park goal was disputed for being offside, the teams continued with the decision to be left for the Football Association to rule, as was normal under the laws of the game ...

Francis Heron
Charles Francis William Heron (1853 – 23 October 1914) was an English footballer who made one appearance as a forward for England and was a member of the Wanderers side that won the FA Cup in 1876. Playing career Heron, the younger brother of Hubert Heron, was born in Uxbridge, west London and attended Mill Hill School and Cranleigh School. He was a founding member of the Uxbridge Football Club on 3 February 1871 before joining his brother at Wanderers F.C. in the 1874-75 season. He made his solitary appearance for England in the fifth international match played at Hamilton Crescent, Partick on 4 March 1876. Heron played alongside his elder brother Hubert who was appointed team captain. Charles Bambridge
Edward Charles Bambridge (30 July 1858 – 8 November 1935) was an English footballer who made eighteen appearances as a left winger for England between 1879 and 1887, being appointed captain twice. He was one of three brothers who played for England. He was an extremely fast winger, being considered one of England's first notable players. Throughout his career he was known as "Charlie Bam". Career Charles Bambridge was born in Windsor, Berkshire, the fifth child of Sophia (née Thorington) and William Samuel Bambridge, who had been a missionary in Waimate, New Zealand, and then the photographer to Queen Victoria. Ernest Henry Bambridge (16 May 1848 – 16 October 1917) was an English footballer who made one appearance as a forward for England in 1876. He was the eldest of three brothers who played for England. Career His football career was spent with Windsor Home Park, Swifts, East Sheen and Corinthian and he gained representative honours for Berkshire. His solitary England appearance came on 4 March 1876 against Scotland at Hamilton Crescent, Partick.
