Window Cleaners
''Window Cleaners'' is an animated short film produced in Technicolor by Walt Disney Productions and released to theaters on September 20, 1940 by RKO Radio Pictures. Plot Donald Duck is hoisted up on a roped platform while Pluto is pulling Donald up. Donald's hat and tail feathers get trimmed exposing his bare tail. Pluto easily gets distracted by a flea and lets go of the rope and Donald falls but the rope gets entangled by the stop sign and stops the platform, Donald lands on a statue horse. Later on Donald throws a bucket of water to wash the window and quickly runs out of water, Donald orders Pluto to wake up but he refuses and Donald gets angry at Pluto, yelling at him and finally throws a brush down the drainpipe and Pluto wakes up and blows the pulley to the wrong bucket full of nuts and bolts and Donald smashes a window and pulls down the window curtain in embarrassment. James Patton "Jack" King (November 4, 1895 – October 4, 1958)Lenburg (2006), pp. 179-180 was an American animator and short film director best known for his work at Walt Disney Productions. Career According to Jeff Lenburg's assessment of him, King was an early pioneer of animation. His films were nominated three times for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. He started his career in the silent film era. He spent most of his career working at Walt Disney Productions (later known as the Walt Disney Animation Studios). He directed many well-regarded films. King was born in 1895 in Birmingham, Alabama. He started his animation career in 1920, working at Bray Productions animation studio. ''The Film Daily'' was a daily publication that existed from 1918 to 1970 in the United States. It was the first daily newspaper published solely for the film industry. It covered the latest trade news, film reviews, financial updates, information on court cases and union difficulties, and equipment breakthroughs. The Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio was an American animation studio operated by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) during the Golden Age of American animation.
