Win Noyes
Winfield Charles Noyes (June 16, 1889 – April 8, 1969) was an American professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Braves, Philadelphia Athletics, and Chicago White Sox. Minor league career Noyes was born in Pleasanton, Nebraska and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University. He started his professional baseball career in 1910 in the Nebraska State League and went 24-12, leading the league in wins and strikeouts. The Pacific Coast League (PCL) is a Minor League Baseball league that operates in the Western United States. Along with the International League, it is one of two leagues playing at the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A level, which is one grade below Major League Baseball (MLB). The PCL was one of the premier regional baseball leagues in the first half of the 20th century. Although it was never recognized as a true major league, to which it aspired, its quality of play was considered very high.
