Wimal Kumara De Costa
Wimal Kumara de Costa (4 July 1948 – 20 November 2016 as විමල් කුමාර ද කොස්තා inhala was an actor in Sri Lankan cinema. One of the most popular comedy artists in 1980s and 1990s, he started cinema career with character roles in art films where he later moved to comedy roles in cinema. He is cited as the pioneer of Sri Lanka mime industry. Personal life Wimal Kumara De Costa was born on 4 July, 1948 in Kelaniya, and he completed his education from Gurukula College, Kelaniya. Career Early days Before entering popular art, he acted many regional stage shows like ''Andare'', ''Yakage Kamhala'', ''Sith Peraliya'' and ''Diyasena''. Weerasangilige Wimal Weerawansa (born 7 March 1970) is a Sri Lankan politician, Member of Parliament and current leader of the National Freedom Front (NFF). Weerawansa has served many cabinet positions, including Minister of Industries from 2020 to 2022, Minister of Small and Medium Business and Enterprise Development, Industries and Supply Chain Management from 2019 to 2020, Minister of Housing and Social Welfare in 2018 and the Minister of Construction and Housing from 2010 to 2015. Early life and family Weerawanssa was born 7 March 1970. He is the son of Weerasangilige Podineris, a dancing teacher and professional musician, and Wadachcharige Salie. Weerawansha has one brother (Sarath Weerawansha) and three sisters (Weerasangilige Sumanawathie, Chandani Weerawansha and Nilani Weerawansha). Wimal Wickremasinghe
Dr Govinnage Wimal Padmasiri Wickremasinghe (25 November 1942 – January 2009) was a Sri Lankan politician and economist. A member of the Sri Lankan parliament for Ratnapura District, he served as the Minister of Environment and Parliamentary Affairs in the United National Party government headed by Sri Lankan president R. Premadasa. He also functioned as the Chief Government Whip of Sri Lankan parliament from 7 April 1993 to 24 June 1994. An economist by profession, Wickremasinghe served as the director of research in the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He also served as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation which he initiated and introduced the practical concept of credit insurance to Sri Lanka.
