Wilyer Abreu
Wilyer David Abreu (born June 24, 1999) is a Venezuelan professional baseball outfielder for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2023. Career Houston Astros On July 2, 2017, Abreu signed with the Houston Astros as an international free agent. He made his professional debut that year with the Dominican Summer League Astros. He advanced to Single–A in 2019, and Double-A in 2022. Boston Red Sox On August 1, 2022, the Astros traded Abreu and Enmanuel Valdez to the Boston Red Sox for Christian Vázquez. On November 15, 2022, the Red Sox added Abreu to their 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The outfield positions are 7 (left field), 8 (center field) and 9 (right field). Triple-A (officially Class AAA) has been the highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States since 1946. Currently, two sports league, leagues operate at the Triple-A level, the International League (IL) and the Pacific Coast League (PCL). There are 30 teams, one per each Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, with 20 in the IL and 10 in the PCL. Jose Alexander Cora (born October 18, 1975) is a Puerto Rican baseball manager and former infielder who is the manager of the Boston Red Sox in Major League Baseball (MLB). Spring training is the preseason in Major League Baseball (MLB), a series of practices and exhibition games preceding the start of the regular season. Spring training allows new players to try out for Schedule (workplace), roster and position spots, and gives established players practice time prior to competitive play.
