Wilson Street is a Lower City collector road in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It starts off at James Street North and works its way East and ends at Sherman Avenue North. The section between James Street and Ferguson Avenue was a one-way road, but was converted to a two-way street at 10 am on December 10, 2010. History There are two streets in Hamilton, Ontario named ''Wilson Street'', one in downtown Hamilton and the other in ''Ancaster''. In 2001 when Amalgamation took place Ancaster joined up and became a part of the new Hamilton along with the towns of Dundas, Flamborough, Glanbrook and Stoney Creek. The name of the main road that cuts through ''Ancaster'' is also named Wilson Street. Originally, ''Wilson Street'' in downtown Hamilton was part an Indian Trail. Other city roads that were Indian Trails include, York Boulevard and King Street in the Lower City plus Concession Street and Mohawk Road on the Hamilton mountain. Raising The Fawn
Raising the Fawn is a Canadian indie rock band, with its roots in Toronto. The band is composed of John Crossingham (who is also a member of Broken Social Scene), Scott Remila and Dylan Green (who are both members of City and Colour). History Raising the Fawn was formed by Crossingham, in 1997 as a solo recording project, but soon was joined by Remilla. They released their self-titled first album in 2001. The group grew to four members with the addition of singer Julie Booth and drummer Jon Drew. The EP ''By the Warmth of Your Flame'' came out in 2003. 2004's ''The North Sea'', recorded two years earlier, contained lively, rhythmic arrangements. A Northern Chorus
A Northern Chorus was a Canadian band from Hamilton, Ontario. They released four records on the Sonic Unyon label. History The band was formed in 1999 by singers/guitarists Stu Livingstone and Pete Hall after their previous group, Datura Dream Deferred, disbanded. The band's initial lineup also included bassist Mark Raymond, drummer Dan Jagt, violinist Erin Aurich and flautist/guitarist Julie MacDonald, who also sang backup vocals. In 2001, the band's first album, ''Before We All Go To Pieces'', was originally released by Black Mountain Music. Later, it was re-released on Sonic Union with a slightly different track list. The New Grand
The New Grand were a Canadian indie rock band from London, Ontario. Known for their explosive live shows, they released two full-length albums on Sonic Unyon Records. History Original members Michael P. Clive, Tim Smith, and Pat Morgan met in high school in the early 1990s. They were joined by guitarist Malcolm Scott in the fall of 1995 just prior to recording their first full-length album. ''The New Grand'', an album of energetic pop songs, was recorded with Brendan McGuire behind the board and released in 1996 on Sonic Unyon Records. Paul Hayden Desser (born February 12, 1971) who records as Hayden, is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Thornhill, Ontario. His early works are a largely eclectic mix of genres from grunge to alternative country, as demonstrated by his first full album, '' Everything I Long For'', released in 1995. Eric's Trip is a Canadian indie rock band from Moncton, New Brunswick. Eric's Trip achieved prominence as the first Canadian band to be signed to Seattle's flagship grunge label Sub Pop in the early 1990s. The band had a minor hit in alternative circles with the single "View Master", from the 1994 album ''Forever Again.'' History Eric's Trip formed in 1990 when musicians Rick White and Chris Thompson joined Julie Doiron and Ed Vaughan (who was later replaced by Mark Gaudet). Shallow North Dakota
Shallow North Dakota was a Canadian noise rock/ sludge metal band from Hamilton, Ontario. The band was well-know known for its loud, aggressive music and live shows, which often included destroying stage equipment. History Shallow North Dakota was formed in Hamilton in 1993 by Tony Jacome (vocals, drums), Dan Dunham (guitar), and Biff Young (bass).
