Wilson Ake
Wilson Asinobi Ake (born 21 September 1955) is a former member of the Senate of Nigeria who represented the Rivers West senatorial district from 2007 to 2015. He is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Early life and education Ake earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Science And Technology, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Political career He was Deputy Chairman of the old Ahoada Local Government Area (1990–1991), and Director of Rivers State Television (1992–1993). He was elected a member of the House of Representatives (1999–2003). After taking his seat in the Senate, he was appointed Chairman of the committee on Employment, Labour & Productivity, and a member of committees on Power, Navy, and Education. The Senate is the upper chamber of Nigeria's bicameral legislature, the National Assembly of Nigeria. The National Assembly (popularly referred to as NASS) is the nation's highest legislature, whose power is to make laws, is summarized in chapter one, section four of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution. The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), formerly known as Action Congress (AC), was a Nigerian political party formed via the merger of a faction of Alliance for Democracy, the Justice Party, the Advance Congress of Democrats, and several other minor political parties in September 2006. The party controlled Lagos. Rivers State Television (abbreviated RSTV), UHF channel 22 is a state-owned television station in Port Harcourt city, Rivers State. It began its operation in 1985. Initially, the station's broadcasting power was 1 kW and signals were transmitted on UHF channel 55. After an upgrade in 1991, RSTV moved to UHF Channel 22 and had its radiated power boosted to 30 kW. Signal transmission and reception RSTV's signal is received in parts of nine states. Its studios and transmitter are co-located in the Elelenwo neighborhood on the southwest side of Oyigbo.
