Wilmer is an unincorporated area, unincorporated community in Mobile County, Alabama, Mobile County, Alabama, United States. History Wilmer was named in honor of Richard Hooker Wilmer, the second bishop of Alabama in the Episcopal Church (United States), Episcopal Church. A post office first opened under the name Wilmer in 1894. Wilmer's first mayor was Perry Walter Evans, who also founded Wilmer's fire department. In the 1990's Wilmer gained notoriety for changing the local speed limit on six different occasions in a sort period of time, in large part reportedly as part of a Speed limit enforcement, speed trap scheme to raise local revenues. Wilmer Allison
Wilmer Lawson Allison Jr. (December 8, 1904 – April 20, 1977) was an American amateur tennis champion of the 1930s. Allison's career was overshadowed by the arrival of Don Budge, although he was both a fine singles player and, along with his frequent partner, John Van Ryn, a great doubles player. At the University of Texas at Austin, Allison was the Intercollegiate tennis champion in 1927. One of Allison's earliest tournament wins was the 1928 Canadian Championship, where he won the final over doubles partner Van Ryn 6–2, 6–4, 6–3. Career Right-handed, Allison's greatest triumph was winning the 1935 U.S. Championship singles, defeating Fred Perry in the semifinals and Sidney Wood in the finals, both in three sets. Wilmer Kousemaker (born 12 July 1985) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Football career NAC Breda Born in Tholen, Zeeland, Kousemaker started playing football at a young age at amateur club Tholense Boys. In 2000, he was brought to the NAC Breda youth academy at the age of 15. There he went to play with the under-17 team. On 18 April 2004, Kousemaker made his senior debut against Volendam, replacing the injured Robbie Haemhouts, who had substituted the similarly injured Nebojsa Gudelj earlier in the match. Wilmer Clemont Fields (March 16, 1922 – December 2, 2018) was an American Southern Baptist minister, public relations executive, newspaper editor, and the (co-)author or editor of 30 books. He was a pastor in Louisiana, Kentucky and Mississippi. Wilmer Leon Fields (August 2, 1922 – June 4, 2004) was an American baseball player who was a household name in the Negro leagues and other baseball circuits between the 1940s and 1950s. Born in Manassas, Virginia, Fields was a versatile two-way player in the Negro leagues, and also played in Canada and several Latin American leagues, including Mexico, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Cuba, Panama, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. In most leagues he was a pitcher, but played at third base or outfield in games when he was not scheduled to pitch. His consistent batting and pitching skills helped him capture the Most Valuable Player award on many occasions throughout the course of his distinguished career. Wilmer Amina Carter (born July 19, 1941) is an American politician who served in the California State Assembly. She is a Democrat. Pre-legislative career and personal Wilmer Amina Carter comes from a large, extended family and spent her childhood years on a farm in Mississippi before moving to San Bernardino. Carter served 16 years on the Rialto Board of Education from 1983 through 1999. For 23 years from 1973 until 1996, she was a staff member for Congressman George Brown, Jr. One of her jobs was District director.
