Wilma Van Velsen
Margot Wilhelmina ("Wilma") Teunisje van Velsen (born 22 April 1964 in Tiel, Gelderland) is a former butterfly and freestyle swimmer from The Netherlands, who twice competed for her country at the Summer Olympics, starting in 1980 in Moscow, Soviet Union. There she won the bronze medal in the 4×100 m freestyle relay, alongside Conny van Bentum, Annelies Maas and Reggie de Jong. Four years later in Los Angeles, United States she was a member of the silver winning team in the same event, although she just swam in the qualifying heats to bring The Netherlands to the final. Tiel
Tiel () is a municipality and a town in the middle of the Netherlands. The town is enclosed by the Waal river and the Linge river to the South and the North, and the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal to the East. Tiel comprises the population centres Kapel-Avezaath, Tiel and Wadenoijen. The city was founded in the 5th century CE. The town of Tiel Tiel is the largest town in the Betuwe area, which is famous for being one of the centres of Dutch fruit production. Orchards in the area produce apples, pears, plums and cherries. Anna Maria Theodora Petra "Annemarie" Verstappen (born 3 October 1965, in Rosmalen) is a female former freestyle swimmer from the Netherlands. Swimming career Verstappen won a total number of three medals at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States. In 1982, she became world champion in the 200 metres freestyle at the World Aquatics Championships in Ecuador. At the end of that same year, she was named Dutch Sportswoman of the Year. In July 1983, she broke the world record in the 50 m freestyle. Despite being of Dutch nationality she won the 200 metres medley title in 1981 at the ASA National British Championships. Regina Constance "Reggie" de Jong (born 7 January 1964) is a former freestyle swimmer from the Netherlands, who competed for her native country in the 1980 Summer Olympics. There she won the bronze medal in the 4×100 m freestyle relay, alongside Conny van Bentum, Annelies Maas and Wilma van Velsen. Her best individual finish was the fifth place (2:02.76) in the 200 m freestyle. In 1983, she won a bronze medal in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay at the 1983 European Aquatics Championships. Annelies Maas (born 25 January 1960 in Wageningen) is a former freestyle swimmer from the Netherlands, who competed in two consecutive Summer Olympics for her native country, starting in 1976. At her second Olympic appearance she won the bronze medal in the 4×100 m freestyle relay, alongside Conny van Bentum, Reggie de Jong and Wilma van Velsen.
