Willow Creek Border Crossing
The Willow Creek Border Crossing connects the cities of Havre, Montana and Govenlock, Saskatchewan on the Canada–United States border. It is reached by Montana Secondary Highway 233 on the American side and Saskatchewan Highway 21 on the Canadian side. Canada replaced its 1974 border station at this crossing with a modular unit in 2015. The US replaced its border inspection facilities in 2012. These facilities were originally built in 1962. Prior to that time, people entering the US at this location were expected to travel to Havre to report for inspection. The last 10 miles of the road between Havre and the Canada–US border were unpaved as recently as 2000. Willow Creek (Deschutes River Tributary)
Willow Creek is a tributary, about long, of the Deschutes River in central Oregon in the United States. Arising near Foley Butte in the western Ochoco Mountains in Crook County, it flows generally northwest into Jefferson County and through the Crooked River National Grassland. The creek continues through the city of Madras and becomes the dividing line between two plateaus, Agency Plains and Little Agency Plains. It then enters the Deschutes above Pelton Dam and its impoundment, Lake Simtustus, about from the river's confluence with the Columbia River. The map includes mile markers along the Deschutes River. Named tributaries from source to mouth are Higgins, Coon, Newbill, and McMeen creeks followed by Dry Canyon. Willow Creek is a long tributary of the Columbia River, located in the U.S. state of Oregon. It drains of Morrow and Gilliam counties. Arising in the Blue Mountains, it flows generally northwest to its confluence with the Columbia River upstream of Arlington. Course Willow Creek's headwaters are located near Arbuckle Mountain in the Blue Mountains, southeast of Heppner. It flows north, then west, receiving the North Fork on the right and Skinners Fork on the left. Willow Creek Lake is formed by the tall Willow Creek Dam just upstream of Heppner at river mile (RM) 52.4, or river kilometer (RK) 84.3. Goose Lake is a large alkaline lake in the Goose Lake Valley on the Oregon–California border in the United States. Like many other lakes in the Great Basin, it is a pluvial lake that formed from precipitation and melting glaciers during the Pleistocene epoch.Green, p. 75 The north portion of the lake is in Lake County, Oregon, and the south portion is in Modoc County, California. The mountains at the north end of the lake are part of the Fremont National Forest, and the south end of the lake is adjacent to Modoc National Forest lands.
