Willkakuti
Willkakuti (Aymara for Return of the Sun), Machaq Mara (Aymara for New Year), Mara T'aqa, Jach'a Laymi or Pacha Kuti (in Spanish named ''Año Nuevo Andino Amazónico'' (Andean-Amazonic New Year)) is an Aymara celebration in Bolivia, Chile and the Puno Region of Southern Peru which takes place annually on 21 June, commemorating the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. It was declared a national holiday in Bolivia in 2009 by the government of Evo Morales. In 2013, when the year 5521 of the Aymara calendar was marked, Willkakuti was celebrated in more than 200 places, among them Inkallaqta, Inka Raqay, Samaypata and Uyuni. Its major celebration hub is Tiwanaku. Inka Raqay, Bolivia
Inka RaqayEvo Morales Ayma, Gaceta Oficial de Bolivia, LEY Nº 295, LEY DE 28 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 2012 (Quechua language, Quechua ''Inka'' Inca empire, Inca, ''raqay'' ruin, a demolished building; shed, storehouse or dormitory for the laborers of a farm; a generally old building without roof, only with walls) is an archaeological site in Bolivia. It is located in the Cochabamba Department, Quillacollo Province, Sipe Sipe Municipality, near the community of Linku. Inka Raqay was declared a National Archaeological Monument by Law No. 3479 of September 22, 2006. By Law No. 295 of September 28, 2012, it was declared a Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Bolivian state. Tarapacá Region
The Tarapacá Region ( es, Región de Tarapacá, ) is one of Chile's 16 first-order administrative divisions. It comprises two provinces, Iquique and Tamarugal. It borders the Chilean Arica and Parinacota Region to the north, Bolivia's Oruro Department and Potosí Department on the east, Chile's Antofagasta Region to the south and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The port city of Iquique is the region's capital. Much of the region was once the Tarapacá Province of Peru, which was annexed by Chile under the 1883 Treaty of Ancón at the close of the War of the Pacific. The region was important economically as a site of intense saltpeter mining, before synthetic nitrate manufacturing became possible. A number of abandoned mining towns can still be found in the region. Puno Region
Puno () is a department and region in southeastern Peru. It is the fifth largest department in Peru, after Cuzco, Madre de Dios, Ucayali, and Loreto. It is bordered by Bolivia on the east, the departments of Madre de Dios on the north, Cusco and Arequipa on the west, Moquegua on the southwest, and Tacna on the south.
