Willisville is a town in Nevada County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 148 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Hope Micropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Willisville is located at (33.514033, -93.295475). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 4.1 km (1.6 mi2), all land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 188 people, 76 households, and 57 families residing in the town. The population density was 45.4/km (117.5/mi2). There were 85 housing units at an average density of 20.5/km (53.1/mi2). The racial makeup of the town was 79.26% White, 19.15% Black or African American, 1.06% Native American, and 0.53% from two or more races. 1.60% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. Joyce Elliott
Joyce Ann Elliott (born March 20, 1951) is an American politician from the state of Arkansas. Since 2009, she has been a member of the Arkansas Senate representing the 31st district, which consists of portions of Little Rock and Pulaski County. She was previously a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, serving from 2001 to 2007. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Elliott was the Democratic nominee in the 2010 and 2020 elections for Arkansas's 2nd congressional district, losing the former election to Republican Tim Griffin, and the latter to incumbent Republican French Hill. If elected, she would have been the only African American to ever represent Arkansas in Congress. U.S. Route 371 is a north–south United States highway in the U.S. states of Arkansas and Louisiana. The highway's northern terminus is in De Queen, Arkansas at an intersection with U.S. Highway 70. It is co-signed for its last between Lockesburg, Arkansas and DeQueen with U.S. Highway 59 and U.S. Highway 71. Its southern terminus is west of Coushatta, Louisiana at an intersection with Interstate 49. Route description Louisiana U.S. 371 is an afterthought in the federal highway system.
