Willie Albert Williams (born December 29, 1941) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive back in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Giants, as well as the Oakland Raiders of the American Football League (AFL). He played college football for the Grambling State Tigers and was selected in the eighth round of the 1965 NFL Draft. He led the NFL in interceptions in 1968, and was selected to the Pro Bowl the following season. Willie Lee Williams Jr. (born August 6, 1967) is a former American football offensive tackle who played two seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Phoenix Cardinals and New Orleans Saints. He was drafted by the Phoenix Cardinals in the ninth round of the 1990 NFL Supplemental Draft. He played college football at Louisiana State University and attended Phillis Wheatley High School in Houston, Texas. Williams was also a member of the Amsterdam Admirals and Toronto Argonauts. College career Williams played college football as a tight end for the LSU Tigers. Willie James Williams (born December 26, 1970) is a former American football cornerback of the National Football League (NFL), and youth football coach. He is also the cousin of WNBA player Tamera Young. Career Williams was drafted out of Western Carolina University by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1993, spending 6 of his 13 seasons in the league with the team. He was a key member of the 1995 team that played in Super Bowl XXX, and the only member from that team to be on the roster of the 2005 squad, who won Super Bowl XL. Williams (May 25, 1925 – August 23, 2011), nicknamed "Curley", was an American Negro league baseball infielder who played for the Newark Eagles, Houston Eagles, New Orleans Eagles and in the minor leagues in a career that spanned from 1945 to 1953. Born in Orangeburg or Holly Hill, South Carolina, Williams began his career with the Newark Eagles franchise in 1945 and remained with it through 1951, even as the team changed locations - it became the Houston Eagles in 1949 and then the New Orleans Eagles in 1951. He began his minor league career in 1951, signing with the Chicago White Sox and playing for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, with whom he hit .297 with four home runs in 20 games. Willie Williams (September 12, 1931 – February 27, 2019) was an American sprinter who set the 100 metres world record in 1956 with a new time of 10.1s, one-tenth of a second faster than the record held jointly by 8 men. Biography Williams grew up in Gary, Indiana, attending Roosevelt High School where he played football and was first in the state in the 100m as a senior. He attended the University of Illinois, from which he gained a degree in physical education. He was in the U.S. army in special services when he broke the world record at the International Military Track Meet in West Berlin in August 1956. He left the army later that year, and became athletics director at Ogden Park, Chicago, before teaching and coaching sports in his home town. Career In 1975, Willie Williams participated in Mas Oyama's 1st World Full-Contact Karate Open Championships tournament as part of the U.S. team coached by Tadashi Nakamura and Shigeru Oyama. He lost to Howard Collins of the United Kingdom in the third round by decision. Four years later, in 1979, he took part in the 2nd World Open Championships.
