Williams FW37
The Williams FW37 is a Formula One racing car designed by Williams Grand Prix Engineering which Williams Martini Racing used to compete in the 2015 Formula One season. It was driven by Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa. It proved to be competitive, with both drivers scoring 4 podiums, and finishing the 2015 season in 3rd. The car was launched on 1 February 2015. Background and design Williams were first in presenting their 2015 car, releasing a computer rendering on 21 January 2015. The peculiar 'anteater' nose design of the Williams FW36, 2014 car was dropped in favour of a lower and shorter one. The Williams team retained the Martini (vermouth), Martini alcohol brand as their main sponsor, thereby keeping the car in the traditional Martini Racing colours. Martini Racing is the name under which various motor racing teams race when sponsored by the Italian company Martini & Rossi, a distillery that produces Martini vermouth in Turin. Martini's sponsorship program began in 1958 as Martini International Club, founded by Count Metello Rossi di Montelera of Martini & Rossi. The race cars are marked with the distinctive dark blue, light blue and red stripes on white, red or silver background body cars. Martini is a brand of Italian drinks, named after the Martini & Rossi Distilleria Nazionale di Spirito di Vino, in Turin. History Clemente Michel, Carlo Re, Carlo Agnelli and Eligio Baudino started the company in 1847, as a vermouth bottling plant in Pessione. A few years later Alessandro Martini joined the team, becoming the director in 1863 along with Teofilo Sola and Luigi Rossi (who was the inventor of a vermouth).
