William Wilson (born 1902) was an English Association football, footballer who played for Portsmouth F.C., Portsmouth, Port Vale F.C., Port Vale, Walsall F.C., Walsall, Stafford Rangers F.C., Stafford Rangers, Worcester City F.C., Worcester City, Bristol Rovers F.C., Bristol Rovers, Willenhall F.C., Willenhall, and Telford United F.C., Wellington Town. Career Wilson played for Seaham Harbour and Portsmouth F.C., Portsmouth, before moving north to join Port Vale F.C., Port Vale in February 1921. Seaham
Seaham is a seaside town in County Durham, England. Located on the Durham Coast, Seaham is situated south of Sunderland and east of Durham. The town grew from the late 19th century onwards as a result of investments in its harbour and coal mines. The town is twinned with the German town of Gerlingen. History The original village of Seaham has all but vanished; it lay between St Mary's Church and Seaham Hall (i.e. somewhat to the north of the current town centre). The Old Recreation Ground
The Old Recreation Ground was a football stadium located in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England, and home to Port Vale F.C. from 1913 to 1950. It was the sixth ground the club used. Structure and facilities The stadium was in rather bad condition, especially following years of neglect during World War II. The dressing rooms were bare, there were no toilet facilities throughout the entire ground, and racing pigeons were kept by '' The Sentinel'' and a number of supporters so as to relay the scoreline to different parts of the city. The Third Division South of The Football League was a tier in the English football league system from 1921 to 1958. It ran in parallel with the Third Division North with clubs elected to the League or relegated from Division Two allocated to one or the other according to geographical position. Some clubs in the English Midlands shuttled between the Third Division South and the Third Division North according to the composition of the two leagues in any one season.
