William Walter Clark
William Walter Clark (July 7, 1885May 15, 1971) was an American educator, farmer, and Republican politician. He represented Wood County in the Wisconsin State Assembly for fourteen years, and was twice elected to the Wisconsin State Senate from the 24th Senate district. Biography Clark was born on July 7, 1885, in Plum City, Wisconsin. After graduating from high school in Ellsworth, Wisconsin, he attended what are now the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He married Estella Lillian Junkman. Clark died on May 15, 1971, and is buried in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Career Clark was a member of the Assembly three times. First, from 1921 to 1922, second, from 1939 to 1940 and third, from 1943 to 1952. During this time, he was a delegate to the 1948 Republican National Convention. Wisconsin Senate, District 24
The 24th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in central Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Portage County and most of Wood County, as well as the northern half of Adams County, the western half of Waushara County, eastern Jackson County, and northern Monroe County. It contains the cities of Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids, and the U.S. Army base Fort McCoy. Current elected officials Patrick Testin is the senator representing the 24th district, and is the current President pro tempore of the Wisconsin Senate. Ellsworth, Wisconsin
Ellsworth is a village in and the county seat of Pierce County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,348 at the 2020 census. The village is adjacent to the Town of Ellsworth and now incorporates the formerly separate district known as East Ellsworth. The municipality of Ellsworth and its surroundings are slowly becoming incorporated into the Twin Cities Metro Area. History Settlement in the area that now comprises the village of Ellsworth began with the arrival of several families in 1857. The village was officially platted in 1862, then incorporated in 1887. The village was initially called Perry, in honor of the War of 1812 hero, Oliver Hazard Perry, but was renamed in 1866 in honor of Col. Elmer E. The Town of Hansen is located in Wood County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 707 at the 2000 census.
