William Nigh
William Nigh (October 12, 1881 – November 27, 1955) was an American film director, writer, and actor. His film work sometimes lists him as either "Will Nigh" or "William Nye". Biography Nigh was born Emil Kreuske''Silent Film Necrology'', p. 393 2nd edition c.2001 by Eugene Michael Vazzana in Berlin, Wisconsin. He began his film career as an actor, appearing in 17 films in 1913 and 1914; he also directed one of these, ''Salomy Jane''. He acted in eight more films in the 1910s and two more in the 1920s, but he is known mainly as a director, and an extremely prolific one at that, with a total output of 119 films, the last in 1948. Most of his directorial output was in the "B"-movie category, and he worked mainly for lower-rung studios such as Monogram Pictures (where he directed several "Charlie Chan" and "East Side Kids" films) and Producers Releasing Corporation, although he did occasionally work for such "majors" as RKO Pictures and such "mini-majors" and "minors" as Univ ...

Berlin, Wisconsin
Berlin is a city in Green Lake and Waushara counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 5,571 at the 2020 census. Of this, 5,435 were in Green Lake County, and only 89 were in Waushara County. The city is located mostly within the Town of Berlin in Green Lake County, with a small portion extending into the Town of Aurora in Waushara County. History In 1845, Nathan H. Strong (1813–1852) became the first resident of what is today Berlin. He was joined by Hugh G. Martin, Hiram Barnes, and William Dickey. Their settlement was known as Strong's Landing. In 1848 a post office was established. It was named Berlin after the capital of Prussia, now the capital of Germany. The first school house was built in 1850 and the first church in 1851. ''The Kiss of Hate'' is a lost 1916 silent film drama starring Ethel Barrymore and H. Cooper Cliffe. The film had exclusive engagements, sometimes playing for only a day. Plot The story takes place in Czarist Russia and concerns an anti-Semitic police commissioner, or Prefect, Count Orzoff(Cliffe) and a woman Nadia(Barrymore) who has spurned his amorous attentions . The commissioner seeks revenge against Nadia by killing her father (W. L. Abingdon). Orzoff becomes governor and Nadia plots revenge against him and is aided by a group of Jews who are also scheming against Orzoff.
