William N. Goetzmann
William N. Goetzmann (born February 4, 1956) is the Edwin J. Beinecke Professor of Finance and Management Studies at the Yale School of Management, and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. In 2018, he received the James R. Vertin Award by the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute Research Foundation "for a body of research notable for its relevance and enduring value to investment professionals". Early life and education Goetzmann is the son of Pulitzer and Parkman Prize-winning historian, William H. Goetzmann, and Mewes Mueller Goetzmann. He graduated from Yale College in 1978 with a degree in Art History and Archaeology, earned his MBA in 1986 from the Yale School of Management, and his Ph.D. from Yale University in Operations Research with a dissertation on topics in finance in 1990. Yale College
Yale College is the undergraduate college of Yale University. Founded in 1701, it is the original school of the university. Although other Yale schools were founded as early as 1810, all of Yale was officially known as Yale College until 1887, when its schools were confederated and the institution was renamed Yale University.
