William Mgimwa
William Augustao Mgimwa (20 January 1950 – 1 January 2014) was a Tanzanian CCM politician and Member of Parliament for Kalenga constituency from 2010 to 2014. He also served as Tanzania's Minister of Finance from 2012 to 2014. Early life and career He was educated at Mafinga Seminary and Tosamaganga Seminary schools. He thereafter joined The Institute of Finance Management and the Institute of Development Management (present day Mzumbe University) for his MBA in finance. He had worked at the National Bank of Commerce as an accountant and was the principal of the Bank of Tanzania Training Institute in Mwanza from 2000 to 2010. He was elected by a landslide in 2010 as the member of parliament for Kalenga constituency, receiving 31,421 votes (84.39%). In May 2012, President Jakaya Kikwete appointed him as the Minister of Finance. Death He died on 1 January 2014 at Kloof Medi-Clinic in Pretoria, South Africa where he was undergoing treatment. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete (born 7 October 1950) is a Tanzanian politician who was the fourth president of Tanzania, in office from 2005 to 2015. Prior to his election as president, he was the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1995 to 2005 under his predecessor, Benjamin Mkapa. He also served as the chairperson of the African Union from 2008–2009 and the chairman of the Southern African Development Community Troika on Peace, Defence and Security from 2012–2013. Mwanza
Mwanza City, also known as Rock City to the residents, is a port city and capital of Mwanza Region on the southern shore of Lake Victoria in north-western Tanzania. With an urban population of 1,182,000 in 2021, it is Tanzania's second largest city, after Dar es Salaam. It is also the second largest city in the Lake Victoria basin after Kampala, Uganda and ahead of Kisumu, Kenya at least in population size. The Bank of Tanzania ( sw, Benki Kuu ya Tanzania) is the central bank of the United Republic of Tanzania. It is responsible for issuing the national currency, the Tanzanian shilling.
