William Machado De Oliveira
William Machado de Oliveira (born 24 August 1976), known as William Machado or simply William, is a Brazilian retired footballer who played as a central defender. Playing career Early career Born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, William started his career with hometown amateurs Sete de Setembro. After a short spell with Desportiva Capixaba, he signed for Ipatinga in 1999, and was a regular starter for the club until joining Cabofriense in 2001. In 2002, William returned to his native state after agreeing to a contract with América Mineiro, a club he already represented as a youth. He failed to settle into any team in the following campaigns, representing Francana, Portuguesa and Joinville before suffering a serious injury in 2004. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série B is commonly referred to as the Brasileirão Série B (Série B), and until 2022 was officially called Brasileirão Sportingbet by sponsorship reasons. 2009 Copa Do Brasil
The 2009 Copa do Brasil was the 21st edition of the Copa do Brasil. It began on February 18 and ended on July 1. Format The tournament is played in six stages, with two teams playing a two-legged tie in each stage. In the first two rounds, if the away team wins the first match by at least a 2-goal difference, it will move towards next round. The away goals rule is also used in the Copa do Brasil. The winner will qualify to the 2010 Copa Libertadores, which prevents them from participating in next year's Copa do Brasil. 2008 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, namely the second level of Brazilian football league system, was contested by 20 teams in 2008. Giants Corinthians played Série B for the first time after its poor season in Série A in 2007. Also, former Série A champions Bahia returned from Série C. The tournament started on May 9 and Corinthians begun defeating CRB 3-2 in São Paulo. Due to its tradition and huge number of supporters, Corinthians attracted most of the attention from the media. The club won the first six matches and never left the top of the table. Promotion came on round 32 - six matches before the end of season - after defeating Ceará 2-0 in São Paulo. Campeonato Mineiro is the state football league of the state of Minas Gerais and is controlled by the Minas Gerais Football Federation FMF (Federação Mineira de Futebol). The history of Campeonato Mineiro can be divided into two parts: before and after the construction of the Mineirão, in September 1966.
