William MacAulay
William MacAulay (31 October 1893 – 17 May 1957) was an Australian politician. He was born in Binginwarri to Scottish-born farmer Allan MacAulay and Margaret Ann Enwen. He worked on his father's farm at Gelliondale, which he inherited in 1927. From 1930 to 1957 he served on Alberton Shire Council, with four non-continuous terms as president. He was also closely involved with the Country Party, serving on its council from 1935 to 1937. James Miller Balfour
James Miller Balfour (30 January 1874 – 31 July 1943) was an Australian politician in the Victorian State Parliament. Balfour was born in Melbourne to butcher James Miller Balfour and Jane Laing Petrie. He was a founding pupil of the then-Working Mens College (Melbourne), now known as RMIT, and in 1887 became a public servant. Following Federation in 1901, he worked for the Postmaster-General's Department and established Australia's first white collar union while there. On 11 November 1913 Balfour married Katrine Elizabeth Alice Murray, with whom he had five children, three of whom survived to adulthood. From 1921 to 1922 Balfour was Secretary of the British Australian Wool Realisation Association, and from 1925 to 1936 was Chairman of the Victorian Dried Fruits Board. Bob May (politician)
Robert William May (6 July 1909 – 16 April 1986) was an Australian politician. Born in Yarram to grazier Robert May and Elizabeth Buist Wilson, May attended Macks Creek State School and Yarram High School before becoming a dairy farmer and grazier in Trenton Valley. On 21 April 1930 he married Helena Rossiter, with whom he had seven children. A director of South Eastern Dairy, Yarram Dairy Company and Australian Dairy Techmcas Services, May joined the Country Party in 1934 and sided with John McEwen in the 1930s split, serving as a central councillor when the party was reunited in 1943. Bill Fulton (Victorian Politician)
William Oliver Fulton (24 February 1891 – 27 August 1975) was an Australian politician. He was born in Mooroopna to butcher George Fulton and Caroline Eatwell. Educated locally, he became a blacksmith at Charlton and Wonthaggi, and served with the 13th Light Horse Regiment in World War I. On 24 April 1915 he married Mary Emma Lancaster, with whom he had five children. In 1921 he settled at Maffra, where he became a manufacturer of agricultural implements. In 1942 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the Country Party member for Gippsland North. Defeated in 1945, he was returned in 1947. In 1950 he was appointed Minister of Health in the Country Party government, but he lost his seat in 1952. Percy Christopher Trevor Harvey (30 May 1885 – 9 December 1952) was an Australian politician. He was born in South Yarra to sailor and station master Percy Leigh Harvey and Edith Julia Graves. He was a manager of butter factories at Heyfield and Korumburra, and around 1908 married Ellen James Evans, with whom he had seven children. From around 1911 he was a dairy farmer and grazier at Boisdale, and he was closely involved with the agricultural and farming community. George Martley Davis
George Martley Davis (7 January 1860 – 20 July 1938) was an Australian politician. He was born in Emerald Hill to grazier George Davis and Mary Critchley Sylvester. He attended state and grammar schools and worked as a stock agent on the Paroo River in Queensland. From 1882 to 1887 he worked as a valuer for Maffra Shire Council before becoming a partner in a stock and station agency. On 7 March 1886 he married Jane Elizabeth Manson, with whom he had four children. He served on Rosedale Shire Council from 1908 to 1930 and was president from 1909 to 1910 and from 1918 to 1919. John McEwen
Sir John McEwen, (29 March 1900 – 20 November 1980) was an Australian politician who served as the 18th prime minister of Australia, holding office from 1967 to 1968 in a caretaker capacity after the disappearance of Harold Holt. He was the leader of the Country Party from 1958 to 1971. McEwen was born in Chiltern, Victoria. He was orphaned at the age of seven and raised by his grandmother, initially in Wangaratta and then in Dandenong. McEwen left school when he was 13 and joined the Australian Army at the age of 18, but the war ended before his unit was shipped out. He was nonetheless eligible for a soldier settlement scheme, and selected a property at Stanhope. He established a dairy farm, but later bought a larger property and farmed beef cattle.
