William M. Brown (1838 – after 1882) was an English-born political figure in British Columbia. He represented Lillooet in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1874 to 1882. He was born in Yorkshire and came to Wisconsin in 1842, where he was educated. In 1862, Brown moved to British Columbia. He was first elected to the assembly in an 1874 by-election held after William Saul and Thomas Basil Humphreys Thomas Basil Humphreys (March 10, 1840 – August 26, 1890) was an English-born miner, auctioneer and political figure in British Columbia. William Montgomery Brown (September 4, 1855 – October 31, 1937), sometimes called "Bad Bishop" Brown, was an Episcopal Church (United States), Episcopal clergyman and author. Brown, of Galion, Ohio, was consecrated a bishop of the Episcopal Church (United States), Episcopal Church, but is best remembered as the first Episcopal bishop to be tried for heresy since the Reformation, and the first of any creed in America to be deposed for heretical teachings. He later became a bishop in the Old Catholic Church. Biography William Montgomery Brown was born on September 4, 1855, on a farm west of Orrville, Ohio, the son of a Joseph Morrison and Lucina Elzina Cary Brown. His father was a tenant farmer who moved the family to Michigan in 1858, and later enlisted in the Union Army during the Civil War. Biography Born on 12 July 1914, William Brown was educated at Bedford School and at Pembroke College, Cambridge, where he was a Scholar and gained a first class degree in Modern language, Modern Languages. He taught at Wellington College, Berkshire, between 1936 and 1947, was Head teacher, Headmaster of the King's School, Ely, King's Ely, between 1947 and 1955, and Head teacher, Head Master of Bedford School, between 1955 and 1975. He was ordained in 1976 and became Parish Priest in the parishes of Field Dalling and Saxlingham in Norfolk, between 1977 and 1984, and Rural Dean of Holt, Norfolk, between 1984 and 1988.
