William Loose
William George Loose (June 5, 1910 – February 22, 1991) was an American composer of film, cartoon and television soundtrack music and stock musical cues. Early life and career Born in Michigan, Loose became a staff musical arranger for an Omaha, Nebraska radio station. During World War II, he led the United States Army Air Forces Orchestra in New York. In the 1950s, Capitol Records represented several musical libraries. Capitol decided to assemble its own library in 1955, and when Nelson Riddle turned down the job of a composer of their musical cues, they hired Loose and John Seely. By 1957, Loose's music was played on no less than 24 different television shows a week; and as of the 1960s, some cues of his music were later used in theaters and drive-in theaters. Film companies such as National Screen Service and Filmack Studios later placed some of William's cues onto its soundtrack under its snipe works beginning in 1964. ''Black Snake'' is a 1973 American film directed by Russ Meyer and starring Anouska Hempel, David Warbeck, Percy Herbert and Thomas Baptiste. It was Meyer's return to self-financed projects, following the end of his brief deal at 20th Century Fox. Meyer's only attempt at the Blaxploitation genre, it was filmed in Panavision and was shot on location in Barbados. It was such a box office bomb that a film named ''Foxy'' starring Edy Williams, which Meyer's wanted to follow this film, was not made. Meyer's vision was a period piece about colonial slavery in which a cruel slave-owner and plantation mistress dominates both the black and white men of the island. (1968), the film is notable for the first appearance of actor (and Meyer regular) Charles Napier playing Harry Thompson, a California border sheriff and marijuana smuggler who makes a reappearance in 1975's ''Supervixens''. Napier's nude scene with Larissa Ely, where they run in the desert, is the first instance of full frontal male nudity in a Meyer picture. Russell Albion Meyer (March 21, 1922 – September 18, 2004) was an American film director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, and editor. He is known primarily for writing and directing a series of successful sexploitation films that featured campy humor, sly satire and large-breasted women, such as '' Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!''. He was best known for his role as Tarzan in the 1960s trilogy and as Junior in the ''Smokey and the Bandit'' film series.
