William K. Martin
William K. "Uncle Billy" Martin (1867 – July 10, 1949) was an American college football and college baseball coach. He was the third head football coach at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, serving for one season, in 1887 season, and compiling a record of 0–1. Martin was also the head baseball coach at Wabash from 1889 to 1892, tallying a mark of 19–10. Martin died on July 10, 1949, at his home in Crawfordsville. Crawfordsville, Indiana
Crawfordsville is a city in Montgomery County in west central Indiana, United States, west by northwest of Indianapolis. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 16,306. The city is the county seat of Montgomery County, the only chartered city and largest populated place in the county. Crawfordsville is part of a broader Indianapolis combined statistical area, although the Lafayette metropolitan statistical area is only north. It is home to Wabash College, which was ranked by ''Forbes'' as #12 in the United States for undergraduate studies in 2008. The city was founded in 1823 on the bank of Sugar Creek, a southern tributary of the Wabash River and named for U.S. Treasury Secretary William H. Crawford.
