William J. Maguire
William J. Maguire (June 12, 1916 – October 2, 1997) was an American Republican Party politician who served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 1976 to 1982. Early life and education Born in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, Maguire attended Barringer High School and Rutgers University. Political career He served as Mayor of Clark, New Jersey from 1960 to 1968 and as a Union County Freeholder from 1970 to 1976. Maguire was elected to the State Assembly in 1975, running with future Governor Donald DiFrancesco; they defeated incumbent Democrat Betty Wilson and her running mate, William A. Wolf, the Rahway Democratic Municipal Chairman. He was re-elected in 1977. Following the resignation of State Senator Peter J. McDonough in 1979, Maguire ran for the State Senate, but lost a vote of a Republican convention to DiFrancesco. John Renna
John Pasquale Renna Jr. (May 19, 1920 – August 21, 1998) was a builder and Republican Party politician who served two separate tenures as the Essex County, New Jersey Republican Chairman, and as the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Biography He was born on May 19, 1920, in West Orange, New Jersey, as one of eight children of John Pasquale Renna Sr., a baker. He worked full-time as a bookkeeper and attended Rutgers University at night, earning a degree in accounting. In 1962, Renna sought a seat on the West Orange, New Jersey Township Council, but was unsuccessful. From 1970 to 1974, during the administration of Governor William Cahill, Renna served as Executive Director of the New Jersey Housing Finance Agency (HFA). Maureen Black Ogden (November 1, 1928 – August 17, 2022) was an American Republican Party politician who served seven terms in the New Jersey General Assembly between 1982 and 1996. She represented the 22nd Legislative District for five terms until 1992 then was shifted to the 21st Legislative District (in redistricting following the 1990 United States census) where she served two terms of office. Early life Ogden was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in 1928 and emigrated to the United States in 1930 with her family. Ogden attended the private all-girls Kent Place School in Summit, New Jersey. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College in 1950 and earned a Master of Arts from Columbia University in 1963.
