Bill Irwin (wrestler)
Barney William Irwin (born September 17, 1954) is an American retired professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, "Wild" Bill Irwin. Irwin is also known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation as The Goon in 1996 to 1997. He is the brother of the late Scott Irwin. Professional wrestling career Mid South beginning of The Super Destroyers/The Long Riders (1977–1987) Trained by his brother Scott Irwin & Verne Gagne (who he claims to have not been part of his official training), Bill Irwin began wrestling in 1979 in the National Wrestling Alliance's Central States territory and in Mid South Wrestling and World Class Championship Wrestling, winning the NWA Central States Tag Team Championship in 1979. William Irwin (philosopher)
William Irwin (born 1970) is Professor of Philosophy at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and is best known for originating the "philosophy and popular culture" book genre with ''Seinfeld and Philosophy: A Book about Everything and Nothing'' in 1999 and '' The Simpsons and Philosophy: The D'oh! of Homer'' in 2001. Early life Irwin was born in 1970 and raised in Yonkers, New York. He attended Regis High School in Manhattan, a Jesuit institution, graduating in 1988. He received his B.A. in Philosophy from Fordham University in 1992 where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa cum Laude, having attended Fordham on a full Presidential Scholarship. Wing Commander William Roy Irwin was a Canadian-born World War I flying ace credited with 11 aerial victories. In the process of becoming an ace, he rose as far as the rank of captain. During World War II, he returned to service, reached the rank of Wing Commander, and won an OBE. Early life William Roy Irwin was born on 7 June 1898 in Ripley, Canada, to Marion Jane Reavie 1872-1918 and Robert Irwin 1869–1918. He was still living in Ripley when he enlisted on 16 June 1916. William Irwin MLA is a Unionist politician from Northern Ireland representing the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). He was elected in 2007 to the Northern Ireland Assembly as a DUP member for Newry and Armagh. Irwin was the Mayor of Armagh from 2006–07 and serves on Armagh City and District Council.
