William Homan
Sir William Jackson Homan, 1st Baronet (1771 – March 1852), was an Irish baronet. Homan was the second son of the Reverend Philip Homan and grandson of George Homan, of Surrock, County Westmeath, by his wife Elizabeth Jackson, daughter and heiress of the Reverend William Jackson, of Maghul, Lancashire. He married Lady Charlotte Stuart, daughter of John Stuart, 1st Marquess of Bute, in 1797. In 1801 he was created a baronet, of Dunlum in the County of Westmeath. Lancashire ( , ; abbreviated Lancs) is the name of a historic county, ceremonial county, and non-metropolitan county in North West England. The boundaries of these three areas differ significantly. The non-metropolitan county of Lancashire was created by the Local Government Act 1972. It is administered by Lancashire County Council, based in Preston, and twelve district councils. Although Lancaster is still considered the county town, Preston is the administrative centre of the non-metropolitan county. The ceremonial county has the same boundaries except that it also includes Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen, which are unitary authorities. John Stuart, 1st Marquess Of Bute
John Stuart, 1st Marquess of Bute PC, FRS (30 June 1744 – 16 November 1814), styled Lord Mount Stuart until 1792 and known as The Earl of Bute between 1792 and 1794, was a British nobleman, coalfield owner, diplomat and politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1766 to 1776. Early life Stuart was born at Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute, the son of prime minister John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute, and his wife Mary Wortley Montagu. He was educated at Harrow School and Winchester College. He went to the University of Oxford, where he had private tuition from James Bladen. The degree of D.C.L., awarded to him by the university in 1793, was honorary. Around 1757 Stuart began to be tutored by the philosopher Adam Ferguson. Henry Villiers-Stuart, 1st Baron Stuart de Decies PC (8 June 1803 – 23 January 1874), was a British politician. Background and education Born Henry Crichton-Stuart, in London, he was the eldest son of Lord Henry Crichton-Stuart, third son of John Stuart, 1st Marquess of Bute. His mother was Lady Gertrude Amilia, daughter and heiress of George Mason-Villiers, 2nd Earl Grandison. He was educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford. In 1822 he assumed by royal licence the surname of Villiers-Stuart in lieu of Crichton-Stuart. Political career Stuart sat as Member of Parliament for County Waterford from 1826 to 1830 and for Banbury from 1830 to 1831. He was appointed the first ever Lord-Lieutenant of County Waterford in 1831, a post he held until his death, and was admitted to the Irish Privy Council in 1837.
