William Henry Allison
William Henry Allison (June 14, 1838 – December 15, 1934) was a Canadian politician and school lands commissioner. Monson Henry Goudge
Monson Henry Goudge (October 22, 1829 – March 1, 1920) was a Canadian merchant and political figure. He represented Hants in the House of Commons of Canada from 1873 to 1878 as a Liberal member. His surname also appears as Gouge.Monson's middle name, recorded here as Henry is not supported by documentation - it is Hoit or Hoyt ( marriage certificate 1901). He was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia, the son of Henry Goudge, and educated in Windsor. He ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the House of Commons against Joseph Howe in 1869 and was first elected in an 1873 by-election held after Howe was named Lieutenant Governor. He was defeated in a bid for reelection in 1878. Mount Allison University
Mount Allison University (also Mount A or MtA) is a Canadian primarily undergraduate liberal arts university located in Sackville, New Brunswick, founded in 1839. Like other liberal arts colleges in North America, Mount Allison does not participate in rankings primarily based on research, such as QS. David Allison (college President)
David Allison (July 3, 1836 – February 13, 1924) was a Canadian professor, administrator and author. He was president both of Mount Allison College and later of Mount Allison University from 1869 to 1878 and from 1891 to 1911, respectively. He was born in Newport, Nova Scotia, the son of James Whidden Allison and Margaret Elder. He was educated at the Dalhousie Collegiate School (later Dalhousie University), at the Wesleyan Academy in Sackville, New Brunswick, founded by Charles Frederick Allison, and at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, from which he received a B.A. in 1859 and an M.A. three years later. Allison married Elizabeth Powell in 1862; she died in 1898. Also in 1862, he became a professor of classics at Mount Allison College. Sackville is a town in southeastern New Brunswick, Canada. It is home to Mount Allison University, a primarily undergraduate liberal arts university. Historically based on agriculture, shipbuilding, and manufacturing, the economy is now driven by the university and tourism. James Whidden Allison
James Whidden Allison (December 1, 1795 – March 19, 1867) was a farmer and political figure in Nova Scotia. He represented Newport township in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1836 to 1840. He was born in Horton, Kings County, Nova Scotia (later Wolfville), the son of John Allison and Nancy Whidden. His family moved to Newport around 1804. In 1821, Allison married Margaret Elder. He died in Mantua, Newport township at the age of 71.
