William Hay, Baron Hay Of Ballyore
William Alexander Hay, Baron Hay of Ballyore (called Willie; born 16 April 1950, in Milford, County Donegal, Republic of Ireland) is a Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) politician, who was a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for Foyle (Assembly constituency), Foyle from 1998 to 2014. He has been a Member of the House of Lords since 2014. He was the Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly from 8 May 2007 to 13 October 2014. He attended Lisneal College, Faughan Valley High School, Drumahoe, County Londonderry. An Irish citizen by birth, he has objected to not being deemed automatically eligible for British nationality. The Apprentice Boys of Derry is a Protestant fraternal society with a worldwide membership of over 10,000, founded in 1814 and based in the city of Derry, Northern Ireland. There are branches in Ulster and elsewhere in Ireland, Scotland, England, Australia and Toronto, Canada. The society aims to commemorate the 1689 Siege of Derry when Catholic James II of England and Ireland and VII of Scotland laid siege to the walled city, which was at the time a Protestant stronghold. The Northern Ireland Forum for Political Dialogue was a body set up in 1996 as part of a process of negotiations that eventually led to the Good Friday Agreement in 1998. The forum was elected, with five members being elected for each Westminster Parliamentary constituency for Northern Ireland, under the D'Hondt method of party-list proportional representation. Lisneal College
Lisneal College is a controlled secondary school located in Derry, Northern Ireland. It is within the Western Education and Library Board area. At £12m, the school is the biggest investment in Derry's controlled sector in 40 years. Work started on the building of the state-of-the-art Lisneal College in June 2005 on a site on Crescent Link.
