William Harris (born 10 March 1504), of Radford in the parish of Plymstock in Devon, was a Member of Parliament for Newport-''juxta''-Launceston in Cornwall. Origins He was the son and heir of Francis Harris (1475–1509) of Radford, by his wife Phillipa Grenville (d. 1524), a daughter of Sir Thomas Grenville (d. 1513), lord of the manors of Bideford in Devon and of Stowe in the parish of Kilkhampton, Cornwall, Sheriff of Cornwall in 1481 and in 1486. William Jamahl Harris (born December 19, 1995) is an American football cornerback for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Boston College. Professional career The Detroit Lions selected Harris in the third round (81st overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Detroit Lions traded their third (88th overall) and their sixth round picks (204th overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft to the Minnesota Vikings in order to move up and draft Harris. Harris was the seventh safety drafted in 2019. He was reunited with Detroit Lions' defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni, who previously coached the defensive line at Boston College. William Harris (historian)
William Harris, D.D. (1720 – February 1770) was an English dissenting minister and historian who wrote a series of historically significant biographies of the House of Stuart kings of 17th-century Britain. Life Harris was born in Salisbury, Wiltshire, and was educated at a dissenting academy in Taunton, Somerset, under Thomas Amory and Henry Grove. He became a lay-preacher at age 18, and was ordained in 1741. He married Elizabeth Bovet of Honiton in Devon and became preacher at a Presbyterian chapel in the nearby village of Luppitt, where he was to remain for the rest of his life. In 1765, Harris's friend and patron, the wealthy philanthropist and fellow-libertarian Thomas Hollis, helped secure for him the degree of Doctor in Divinity from the University of Glasgow and wrote of him: "All his works have been well received, and those who differ from him in principle still value him in point of industry and faithfulness." William Harris (born 1 October 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Spennymoor Town. Career A youth product of Hebburn Town and Burnley, Harris began his career with consecutive loans to Colne and Warrington Town. He moved to EFL League One club Sunderland on 1 September 2020, making his professional debut in a 2–1 EFL Trophy win over Lincoln City on 5 October 2021. He made his senior professional league debut on 16 October 2021, coming on as a 90th minute substitute in a 2–1 win over Gillingham. Willie Harris
William Charles Harris (born June 22, 1978) is an American professional baseball coach who is currently the third base coach for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). He is also a former Major League Baseball outfielder and second baseman with the Baltimore Orioles, Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals, New York Mets and the Cincinnati Reds between 2001 and 2012. With the White Sox, he won the 2005 World Series against the Houston Astros. He batted left-handed and threw right-handed. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks, Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. He made his major league debut in 2012. From Houston, Texas, Harris played college baseball for Louisiana State University (LSU). The Rockies selected him in the ninth round of the 2006 MLB draft. William "Pat" Albert Harris (30 June 1876 – 15 June 1950) was a New Zealand rugby union player who represented the New Zealand national side in 1897. His position of choice was hooker. Harris did not play in any test matches as New Zealand did not play their first until 1903. Career Harris, more commonly known as "Pat", was born in Christchurch but played for the Union (now known as Alhambra-Union due to a merge of clubs) club in Dunedin. He played 9 games for the Otago province between 1894 and 1896. The next year, in 1897 he appeared for the South Island in the inaugural North against South Island match. Based on this performance, Harris was chosen for the tour to Australia that year. He played in 8 out of the total 10 matches in Australia, including two out of the three of the unofficial tests against New South Wales.
