William H. Nelson
William H. Nelson is an American businessman who is the former CEO of Intermountain Health Care. He received his B.S. in accounting from the Marriott School of Management, Brigham Young University, in 1967. He was also the first recipient of the National Healthcare Leadership Award. William H. Nelson served as the president and chief executive officer of Intermountain Healthcare, an integrated nonprofit healthcare system with 160 healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics and an insurance organization, from 1999 until his retirement in early 2009. Nationally acclaimed Intermountain Healthcare is the largest healthcare provider in the intermountain west, with over 33,000 employees serving the needs of Utah and southeastern Idaho residents. The Marriott School of Business is the business school of Brigham Young University (BYU), a private university owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and located in Provo, Utah. It was founded in 1891 and renamed in 1988 after J. Willard Marriott, founder of Marriott International, and his wife Alice following their $15 million endowment gift to the school.
