Bill Farmer
Bill Farmer (born November 14, 1952) is an American voice actor, comedian and impressionist. He has performed the voice of the Disney character Goofy since 1987, and has also been the voice of Pluto and Horace Horsecollar since 1990. Early life Farmer was born on November 14, 1952, in Pratt, Kansas, the second child in his family. His parents were of English and Welsh descent. Farmer began doing voices, at the age of 10, involved doing impressions, especially those of Western stars like John Wayne or Walter Brennan. He and his friends would sometimes go through fast food drive-thrus and order foods in his character voices. Farmer graduated from the University of Kansas in 1975, where he became a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. In university, he found work in radio and TV and then moved on to stand-up comedy as an impressionist. William John Farmer (born 10 June 1947) is a retired senior Australian public servant and policymaker, best known for his time as Secretary of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs and for his career in the Australian diplomatic service. Background and early life Bill Farmer graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and from the London School of Economics with a Master of Science in Economics. Career Farmer started his public service career in the Department of External Affairs in 1969. His early Australian Public Service roles saw him serving in Cairo, London and Suva. William Wood Farmer
William Wood Farmer (27 April 1813 – 23 October 1854) was an American politician. In 1853 and 1854 he served as Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana. Life William Farmer was born in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. He received an excellent education and he served as one of the first justices of the peace in his home area. He owned a plantation and he worked as a surveyor. Politically he joined the Democratic Party and he served several terms in both chambers of the Louisiana Legislative. In 1852 he was elected to the office of the Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana. He served in this position between 1853 and his death the following year. In this function he was the deputy of Governor Paul Octave Hébert and he presided over the Louisiana State Senate. 2009 Laugavegur Ultramarathon
The Laugavegur Ultramarathon is an annual ultramarathon race held on the Laugavegur in Iceland. Running from Landmannalaugar past the Hrafntinnusker mountain and Álftavatn lake, across the Bláfjallakvísl river, through the Emstrur plain and across the Fremri-Emstruá river to Þórsmörk, it covers a total of 55 km. The race has been held annually since 1997; the 2011 race is scheduled for July 16, 2011. Past races 2010 The 2010 race was held on July 17, 2010. A total of 279 runners started the race; 267 runners finished, among them 189 men and 78 women. The oldest participant was Jørgen Nautrup of Denmark, who was born in 1942 and finished the race in 7:28:41; the youngest participants were Jón Hinrik Höskuldsson and Guðrún Ólafsdóttir of Iceland, who were born in 1991 and finished the race in 8:46:02 and 7:02:57, respectively.
