Billy Dick
William John Dick (16 July 1889 – 18 November 1960) was an Australian rules footballer who played for and in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Career Dick made his debut for the Carlton Football Club in round 6 of the 1911 season. He left the club at the end of the 1918 season. William Dick Of Braid
Sir William Dick of Braid (1580–1655) was a 17th-century Scottish landowner, banker and merchant who served as Lord Provost of Edinburgh from 1638 to 1640. His fortunes took him from being "the richest man in Scotland" in 1650 to his death as a pauper a few years later. Life He was born in 1580 at Braid Castle, then south-west of Edinburgh (now enveloped by the city) close to what is now Hermitage of Braid. He was the son of John Dick and his wife, Margaret Stewart. William Thomas Dick (16 January 1865 – 1 July 1932) was a politician, teacher, actuary and barrister in New South Wales, Australia. Dick was born in Sydney the eldest son of Eliza and William Dick, a police officer. He was educated at Fort Street High School, before the family moved to Newcastle in the late 1870s where his father became a senior sergeant. He completed his education at Newcastle Superior Public School. He taught at the state school in the Newcastle suburb of Wickham from 1881 to 1884, at Fort Street Training School (Sydney) 1884 to 1885 and Dulwich Public School (Sydney) 1885 from 1887. He earned a Bachelor of Arts with honours at the University of Sydney in 1890, and opened a private school in Newcastle. He qualified as an actuary in 1894. William Dick (Manitoba Politician)
William Robert Dick (December 31, 1821 – March 31, 1904) was a Canadian lumber merchant and political figure in the province of Manitoba. He represented Springfield from 1875 to 1878 in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba. He was born in Kingston, Upper Canada and grew up in Victoria County. In 1845, Dick married Isabella Willock. He served twelve years as reeve of Fenelon Township. Dick moved to Manitoba in 1871 and became the first reeve of Springfield in 1873. He established a lumber business with his son-in-law William Ward Banning and later bought businesses in Rat Portage and Norman. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives. William Reid Dick
Sir William Reid Dick, (13 January 1878 – 1 October 1961) was a Scottish sculptor known for his innovative stylisation of form in his monument sculptures and simplicity in his portraits. He became an Associate of the Royal Academy in 1921, and a Royal Academician in 1928. Dick served as president of the Royal Society of British Sculptors from 1933 to 1938. He was knighted by King George V in 1935. He was Sculptor in Ordinary for Scotland to King George VI from 1938 to 1952 then held the post under Queen Elizabeth until his death in 1961. William Wentworth FitzWilliam Dick
The Rt Hon. William Wentworth FitzWilliam Dick (28 October 1805 – 15 September 1892), known as William Wentworth FitzWilliam Hume until 1864, was an Irish Conservative politician. He was elected as one of the two Members of Parliament for Wicklow in 1852 and held the seat until 1880, when he was defeated. In 1890 he was appointed to the Privy Council of Ireland.
