William Corbett (composer)
William Corbett (18 June 1680 – 7 March 1748) was an English composer, violinist, and concert performer. The Director of New Theatre (Lincoln's Inn Fields, London) from 1700, Corbett was appointed orchestra director of King's Theatre, The Haymarket in 1705 and became a member of the Royal Orchestra in 1709. In 1716, he was appointed Director of the King's Band. From 1715 to 1726, Corbett lived in Italy, returning to London in 1727. It has been speculated that while abroad, Corbett was possibly acting as an agent for the Crown. William Henry Corbett
William Henry Corbett (July 6, 1847 – November 25, 1941) was a farmer and political figure in Manitoba. He represented Springfield from 1903 to 1907 in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba as a Conservative. Early life and career He was born in Cavan, Ontario and came to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1871. He settled in Springfield and served as reeve for the Rural Municipality of Springfield for 14 years. Corbett married Jennie Wright. Death He died at home in Winnipeg in 1941. William T. Corbett (1902 – April 17, 1971) was an American attorney, who served as Secretary of Guam under Ford Quint Elvidge, and later became as the interim Governor of Guam from May 19, 1956, to October 2, 1956. Graduating from the University of Pittsburgh College of Arts and Sciences in 1924 and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1927, Corbett opened a private workers' compensation law firm before joining the United States Department of the Interior. Corbett was the brother of Representative Robert J. Corbett. William Corbett (October 11, 1942 – August 10, 2018) was an American poet, essayist, editor, educator, and publisher. Corbett's work and public readings acknowledge the influence on him of jazz, modernist and imagist poetry (especially William Carlos Williams and Ezra Pound in his later work), the group of poets in Donald Allen's seminal anthology ''The New American Poetry 1945–1960'', many of them from the Black Mountain College community (most notably Allen Ginsberg, Frank O'Hara, James Schuyler, his friends Robert Creeley and John Wieners, and his mentor, Charles Olson), classical Chinese poets (mainly Li Po), and French poetry of the mid-19th to early 20th centuries (especially Guillaume Apollinaire). William Daniel Corbett (born March 30, 1960) is an American writer and performer for television, film and theatre. He was a writer and performer on the cult television show ''Mystery Science Theater 3000'' (''MST3K''), for which he voiced the robot Crow T. Robot during the show's later seasons on the Sci Fi Channel. During that time, he also played the character Observer, along with other minor roles.
