William Collier, Jr.
William Collier Jr. (born Charles F. Gall Jr.; February 12, 1902 – February 5, 1987) was an American stage performer, producer, and a film actor who in the silent and sound eras was cast in no fewer than 89 motion pictures. Biography William Collier (nicknamed "Buster") was born in New York City. When his parents divorced, his mother, the actress Paula Marr, remarried the actor William Collier Sr. who adopted Charles (the two did share a resemblance) and gave the boy the new name William Collier Jr. Collier's acting experience in childhood, having first appeared on stage at age seven, helped him get his first movie role at age 14 in ''The Bugle Call'' (1916). In 1910 his parents were appearing in Denver and Collier was hospitalized with scarlet fever, which was followed by typhoid, but he eventually recovered by the end of the summer and was able to join his parents who were appearing at Elitch Theatre. Audrey Minerva Ferris (born Audrey Minerva Kellar; August 30, 1909 – May 3, 1990) was an American film actress of the silent film era of the late 1920s and into the early 1930s, a singer, and a dancer. Biography Born Audrey Minerva Kellar in Detroit, Michigan, Ferris was the only child to Frank M. Kellar, a railway clerk, and Florence Maggie Kellar (née Watson), who were both Canadian immigrants. Ferris was of English, Irish, and German descent. Her parents divorced in 1913. In May 1935, Ferris was a witness in a trial in Los Angeles as her mother sued for more than $3,000 in past-due support payments. Ferris, then 25 years old, testified that she did not remember her father. It was distributed through Associated First National Pictures. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Janet Loring deserts her young son Ranny when she marries the millionaire Malcolm Trask. Ranny becomes the tool of a criminal, but saves all of the money he gets so he can buy a home for the young woman that he loves. His mother misses him, and attempts to locate him by advertising for him. As a scheme, the crook sends Ranny in response to the advertisement, not knowing that he is really her son.
