William Allison (Wisconsin Politician)
William Allison (1827–1881) was a Republican member of the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1880. He also served as a school board member. Allison was born on January 1, 1827, in East Kilbride, Scotland In 1851, Allison settled in Vernon, Wisconsin. He later moved to Maxville, Wisconsin, where he would own a farm. He married Mary Crockett from Scotland (1822–1890), with whom he raised seven children. A son, James Allison, would also become a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. William Outis Allison (1849 – December 18, 1924) was the first Mayor of Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey after it split from Englewood, New Jersey in 1895 and served four terms in office. Biography Allison was born in 1849 in Undercliff (now Edgewater, New Jersey). His home burned to the ground in November 1903, resulting in a loss estimated at $75,000. He died on December 18, 1924, at his apartment at 115 West 16th Street in Manhattan Manhattan (), known regionally as the City, is the most densely populated and geographically smallest of the five boroughs of New York City.
