William Addis (Governor Of Bermuda)
Sir William Addis, Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, KBE, Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George, CMG (5 September 1901 – 19 November 1978) was a British colonial administrator. He was List of colonial governors and administrators of Seychelles, Governor of Seychelles from 1953 to 1958. During his tenure as governor, he was responsible for Makarios III, Archbishop Makarios, who had been exiled to the colony from Cyprus. The Order of the Brilliant Star of Zanzibar (Wisam al-Kawkab al-Durri al-Zanzibari) is a decoration awarded by the Sultan of Zanzibar for meritorious services and since The Order of Independence was created in 1963 it is reserved for the persons rendering extraordinary service to the Sultan, his heirs and successors and other members of the Royal family.
