Willi Landers

	Willi Landers Willi Landers (born 1939) is a slalom canoeist who competed for East Germany in the 1960s. He won two medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a gold (C-2 team: 1967) and a silver (Mixed C-2: 1961). The World Championships have taken place every year in non- Summer Olympic years since 2002. From 1949 to 1999, they had taken place in odd-numbered years. The 2001 championships were scheduled to take place in Ducktown, Tennessee (East of Chattanooga) from 20 to 23 September, but were canceled in the wake of the September 11 attacks.
