Willax Televisión (commonly known as Willax, from Quechuan languages, Quechua ''willaq'' ‘narrator, informant’) is a Peruvian television channel. It began as an internet channel in 2010 with a television channel launching later that year. History Willax was founded by journalist Gilberto Hume and his wife Cecilia Valenzuela in 2010. Willax was founded after the relaunch of ''AgenciaPerú'', originally established in 2008. The channel’s name comes from the Quechuan languages, Quechua word ''willaq'' meaning ‘narrator, informant’, probably to relate it to ''willakuy'' ‘news’. In early 2010, the channel began broadcasting on the Internet as a news channel operated out of the former Monitor studios in San Borja District, San Borja. Later, it commenced operations as a cable television channel. In 2014, Willax was transferred to channel 18 on Movistar TV's analog cable service. Digital Terrestrial Television
Digital terrestrial television (DTTV or DTT, or DTTB with "broadcasting") is a technology for terrestrial television in which land-based (terrestrial) television stations broadcast television content by radio waves to televisions in consumers' residences in a digital format. DTTV is a major technological advance over the previous analog television, and has largely replaced analog which had been in common use since the middle of the 20th century. Rafael Rey Rey (born February 26, 1954) is a Peruvian engineer, political commentator and politician who currently serves as member of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru Board of Directors since 2016. Throughout his political life, he served in the Peruvian Congress from 1990 to 2006 and as a Representative to the Andean Parliament from 2006 to 2016. During the Second presidency of Alan García, he was appointed Minister of Production, Ambassador to Italy and Minister of Defense. José Pedro Castillo Terrones (; born 19 October 1969) is a Peruvian politician, former elementary school teacher, and union leader who served as the president of Peru, President of Peru from 28 July 2021 to 7 December 2022. 2021 Peruvian General Election
General elections were held in Peru on 11 April 2021. The presidential election, which determined the President of Peru, president and the Vice President of Peru, vice presidents, required a run-off between the two top candidates, which was held on 6 June. The congressional elections determined the composition of the Congress of the Republic of Peru, Congress of Peru, with all 130 seats contested. Pedro Castillo, a member of the left-wing Free Peru party, received the most votes in the first round.
