Willard Underhill Taylor
Willard Underhill Taylor (1868–1940) was a lawyer, New York City real estate investor, and brother of Myron Charles Taylor. Willard was also a member of the Saint Nicholas Society of the City of New York and the President of the Underhill Society of America between 1932 and 1940. Biography Willard Underhill Taylor participated in the twenty-third Annual Commencement of Cornell University on June 18, 1891. Taylor, then of Lyons, New York, gave a commencement speech on "Progressive Americanism." That day he received a Bachelor of Philosophy as well as a "Certificate for proficiency in military science." The New York Times incorrectly referred to him as Willard N. Underhill. He was one of 250 degree earners to receive degrees that day from University President Adams. Locust Valley Cemetery
Locust Valley Cemetery is a non-denominational cemetery located in Lattingtown, New York, in Nassau County. The cemetery was founded in the 19th Century and designed by John Charles Olmsted and Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr., renowned architects of Central Park. They are the sons of the famed landscape designer Frederick Law Olmsted. The two brothers were among the founding members of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Locust Valley Cemetery is situated on over 32 lushly landscape acres with a park-like setting. The cemetery is owned by its plot holders and managed by an association. Myron Charles Taylor
Myron Charles Taylor (January 18, 1874 – May 5, 1959) was an American business magnate, industrialist, and later a diplomat involved in many of the most important geopolitics, geopolitical events during and after World War II. In addition he was a philanthropist, giving to his ''alma mater'', Cornell University, and a number of other causes. Early life and career Taylor was born in Lyons (town), New York, Lyons, New York to William Delling Taylor and Mary Morgan ( Underhill) Taylor. His father owned and operated a Tanning (leather), tannery business. Taylor graduated from the Cornell Law School in 1894. He returned to Lyons and for the next five years attempted to establish a small-town law practice. The Underhill Society of America is a non-profit family genealogical society that was organized in Brooklyn, New York, on June 16, 1892. The Society was incorporated in 1903. The purpose of the Underhill Society of America is to perpetuate the memory of Captain John Underhill and his descendants.
